  • (Heat 1500kwh per 1000kg or 1.5kwh / kg.
  • Distillation 121kwh or 0.121kwh/kg
  • Total is 1.747kwh/kg plastic. Give 900ml kerosene.
  • gas, residue and char losses are 268kg. Only 73% of plastic converts to diesel, kerosene. Density of kerosene is 810grams/ liter. thus 1kg plastic about 880ml kerosene.

One 8x3m parabolic mirror at 90% reflective efficiency and thermal element absorption losses brings the 800 watt sun energy down to down to 700watt/m or 16.8kwh.

  • 9hours solar x 30 x 16.8kwh = 4536kwh about R9000.00 for Eskom equivalent.
  • One hour 16.8/2kwh per 1kg plastic * 0.8 = 5.88 l/h.
  • 5.88 * 9hours per day * 30 = 1580 liters bunker, kerosene or diesel per month.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQdGTritwwc series showing step by step guide to making Sulfur free Diesel from waste plastics. all soft plastocs- PE, PVC, PPE all yield quality oil when pyrolised. background info on what we are doing- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ6Rv... In this first videe we construct a waste oil burner to drive the process. next video, we fit the burner into the heating chamber and construct the reaction vessel. Subscribe to the channel to keep up with the free Diesel project. please comment below if you need clarification of any details in the video. let me know how your project is going too. the diesel produced is sulfur free, high grade diesel. Diesel engines were originally invented to burn sunflower oil and be an engine that farmers could use without buying fuel. In the 1920s, Texan Oil Barons created a fuel that was similar and this became the crude oil based diesel that we use today. Most supplies of crude oil based diesel are high in sulfur which creates the black filthy residue in the engines oil. various additives are mixed in to counteract this. Detergents and surficants which reduce the lubricity of the fuel causing wear but keeping it cleaner. Plastic of types 2,3,4, and 5 are sulfur free and make a better cleaner fuel than what we are used to buying. HOWEVER* sulfur free diesel is not in late model 2006 and onward common rail injection systems. as this series of videos progresses, you will see that the machine can also make kerosine, petrol, naptha and creosote, all from plastic or even waste oil. Safe and effective use of your fractional distillation pyroliser will depend on a understanding of hydrocarbon science. Here is info on sulfur free diesel- https://www.axi-international.com/ult...

But, I have to say, compare with running a engine without oil, adding this would be better.

http://www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/efficiency-and-recycling-go-hand-in-hand-2010-01-15 Sludge, tar, grease and oil are a well-known aspect of the ‘dirty’ work of manufacturing and mining. However, in terms of the Waste Act, these substances are serious pollutants and it has become the responsibility of producers to reduce, recycle and eliminate all polluted waste streams.

The Rose foundation opened a new bulk storage facility in Weenen, near Estcourt, in KwaZulu-Natal. Vinko’s Oil received two 23 000-∙ tanks and two 4500-∙ tanks complete with piping and pumps, which were made available by the National Oil Recycling Association of South Africa.

At industrial heating fuel suppliers FFS Refiners’ plant, in Pietermaritzburg, the Rose foundation supplied extra tankage to complement the existing facility. This allows collectors of used oil to drop off oil at the facility, instead of having to drive to Durban.

patents

http://www.faqs.org/patents/app/20120205289 The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for recovery of spent lubricating oil. The evaporation of hydrocarbon fractions from spent lubricating oil is carried out in three steps. The first step is at approximately 150-1030 mbar and between 70-240° C. in which is greater than 99% water, greater than 99% of ethylene glycol and greater than 50% of hydrocarbon molecules with normal boiling point up to 310° C. are evaporated from spent oil. The second step is operated at 6-30 mbar and 200-2900 C in which predominantly gasoil and light vacuum gasoil fractions are evaporated. The third step is operated at 250-320° C. and 0.5-15 mbar in which mainly heavy vacuum gasoil (boiling range of 425 to 570° C. on ASTM D-1160 test) is evaporated from spent oil.

Commercially, the separation or recovery of LOBS from discarded lubricants is predominantly carried out by use of a wiped-film (WFE) or a thin-film evaporator with an agitating rotor (ATFE) in one or two steps (in series). These TFE or WFE equipment, are described in detail, as are their principles of operation and typical operating conditions, in "Recent Technology Development in Evaporative Recycling of Discarded Oil" by J. Bishop and D. Arlidge and in "Thin-film Distillation as a Tool in Recycling of Discarded Oil" by J. F. Pauley, both articles appearing in Third International Conference on Discarded Oil Recovery and Reuse, 1978. See also U.S. Pat. No. 4,073,719, U.S. Pat. No. 3,348,600 and U.S. Pat. sodium silicate

http://www.scielo.org.za/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S2225-62532015001200007 At industrial scale, commercial sodium silicate is traditionally manufactured by calcination of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and SiO2 at a temperature range of 1400-1500°C in furnaces (Folleto et al., 2006). Although the raw materials are cheap, the process is not cost-effective due to its high energy consumption and maintenance cost (Folleto et al., 2006). The process also emits dust, nitrogen, and sulphur oxides, contributing to air pollution. Alternatively, Na2SiO3 can be produced by the reaction of SiO2 with NaOH solution in an autoclave, at high temperature and pressure (McDaniel et al., 1961). In light of the information at hand, it is necessary to carry out an investigation on alternative methods, which are less energy intensive, for producing Na2SiO3 for use as an additive to OWC. In addition, the SiO2, one of the raw materials required in the aforementioned alternative preparation method of Na2SiO3, can be obtained from coal fly ash (CFA).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solvay_process The Solvay process or ammonia-soda process is the major industrial process for the production of sodium carbonate (soda ash, Na2CO3).
